For those who love the classic gent style, you will be happy to know the Edward suit cut was inspired by none other than King Edward VII - a sharp dresser who never looked anything but chic.

Jacket Style

Our Edward jacket is a fitted, single-breasted style with a two button fastening. It has a double vent and button hole detail on a notched lapel. There are two jetted flap pockets and a breast pocket, all functioning, on the external along with two internal breast pockets, one pen and one ticket situated to the left for the right handed wearer.

Fabric Style

This fabric is the perfect choice for those bored of the standard ‘grey suit’. Much like it’s colourful cousins, this charcoal tweed has a lovely speckled texture of light greys running through it. It is great as a business suit or can be livened up for other occasions with a vibrant tie or pocket square; maybe even some polka-dot socks!

Edward Charcoal 3-Piece

I'm from rural Canada and ordered a full suit Edward suit in Charcoal Donegal (jacket, vest, pants) at 42L for the tops and 36 for the pants. Shipping was fast, with only 9 days between placing the order and receiving the suit.

I'm 6'2, approx. 200lbs. I am a solid 42 chest, 35 waist, and normally buy standard suits in 42L and then go for tailoring to tweak them.

The Edward fit slimmer than I expected. Most suits I have purchased in the past, have benefited from slimming the jacket, but I am pleased to note that I won't need to tailor the vest or jacket at all in this case I am totally happy with the fit, both in girth and length.

The pants waist is also true to size at 36, which leaves me the expected extra inch to tailor in if I desire. I ordered the pants unhemmed, so I can't speak to length. The legs are cut fairly modern and slim - which pairs well with the other pieces, although I personally find it less comfortable because I have above average quads / glutes from weightlifting. This is a common problem for weightlifters so not something that most people would be concerned about.

Overall, this definitely would classify as a modern on slim fit for most other brands I have tried.

All three garments seem well constructed, and I haven't noticed any significant defects. There was some loose thread at one armpit on the jacket, which I tied off and cut, but otherwise I didn't find anything of note.

The fabric is soft and slightly scratchy as expected, and has a nice little bit of natural stretch. I find it very comfortable to wear, especially in slightly cooler temperatures. It feels very much like wearing a tailored wool blanket, and is extremely comfortable in the fall air.

The pricing is very fair in my opinion. I am going to spend some time breaking in this suit, and unless something completely unexpected happens, I will be back to order more.
Beautiful suit, wears well

When last in London (coming from the US) I picked up a few different suits (this, the brown Edward jacket, and the brown with blue windowpane Edward jacket) because 3-piece tweed suits are not easy to come by, especially not in the US. All three are beautiful and fit perfectly on my slim frame.

All of the suits are well-made and versatile. As 3-piece suits they are quite formal. However, mixing and matching, wearing only jacket and trousers, wearing a jumper rather than waistcoat, they can suit a range of occasions. They have become near-daily wear for me.

Moreover, while the suits make for a classic look, the colors and cut open them up to somewhat more modern takes (e.g., I have found Fluevog shoes make my look slightly less traditional but still very stylish).

The manager at the London store was very patient in helping me find the right sizes (for trousers, waistcoat, and jacket). They hemmed the trousers by the next day. I am looking forward to my next visit.
Wonderful suit jacket

On my last trip to Edinburgh I stopped into WS because I really liked the look of a couple suits they had in the window. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We went through a few sizes and the exact jacket was not at this store, but they called around to find it. It was in the London store. I tried on the trousers and another pattern of the jacket, and it all fit me perfectly, except that the trousers needed to be hemmed.

I flew home the next day and a week later the suit arrived and it is perfect. The wool is not scratchy or itchy and the trousers were tailored exactly right.
The ensemble is very handsome, well-made and very comfortable. Kudos.

    UK Standard delivery: 1-3 working days (signature required)

    European Union: 3-6 working days (signature required)

    Rest of the World: 5-7 working days (signature required)

    Russia and China: We find that using our standard courier (DHL) can result in a long delay for delivery, and will use Royal Mail to ensure the items get to the customer in a timely manner. Delivery has been known to take up to 14 days. 

    Cost varies depending on item weight e.g. one cap will vary from a three piece (understandably!).

    Delivery times are subject to stock availability, delays due to credit card authorisation, compliance with customs controls and other factors outside our control.

    Orders placed after 1pm on Fridays will not be dispatched until the following Monday.

    A signature is required on delivery, so please provide an address where someone will be able to sign for your goods. Sometimes we split your order across more than one delivery but we’ll only charge you once.

    We can take no responsibility for any delivery problems arising from incomplete or incorrect address details supplied by you.

    If you prevent delivery of the goods by failing to supply the courier or your local customs tax office with necessary information or documentation, or failing to pay local customs taxes or courier’s administration fees so your package is returned to us, any resulting return postage or courier’s administration fees incurred will be deducted from the amount refunded to you in respect of that order.

    In the interest of security we reserve the right to despatch the product(s) purchased on this site to the billing address belonging to the credit card used as payment and not to the nominated delivery address supplied by you—you will be contacted if this arises.

    International Orders

    Where products are delivered to you outside of the European Union VAT deduction will be applied during the checkout upon entering a valid delivery address. Your package will be sent DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid); you will be responsible for paying any local sales tax or import duties arising at the delivery destination, which are not included in the price of the products. Import duty or tax costs will be invoiced directly to you from DHL or an import broker. We recommend you contact your local customs authority to determine a landed cost price prior to order completion.

  • Returns & Exchanges

    Walker Slater will offer a refund or exchange (if stock is available) on any unworn/unused goods (faulty or otherwise) within 28 days of dispatch. You must return the goods to us – please try to return items in or with their original packaging.

    Please note that hemmed trousers cannot be returned for a refund or exchange. If you are unsure of your sizing, we recommend choosing "unfinished" and using a local tailor for your adjustments.

    Refunds must be made through the website, following the returns procedure documented on the “Returns Postcard” supplied inside your original order. Goods must not be returned to our stores for a refund. Under no circumstances will refund be issued at any of our shops.

    If the items you return are not faulty you will bear the cost of returning the items (such as postage). If the items you return are faulty then we will bear the cost of their return (please note, this does not affect your statutory rights). If you require an exchange on a faulty item, provided we have stock available, you will not be charged again for delivery of the replacement item.

    If a refund is required, this will be made in the same way as the original payment method (such as onto a gift voucher, debit/credit card account, paypal).

    We always aim to honour an exchange. If the item you require is out of stock we will contact you and give you a choice of an alternative product or a refund. We recommend you contact us ahead of time to reserve a product required for an exchange. If the item you require is of a higher value we will contact you to take an additional payment. Once the exchange is completed we will then cover the cost of shipping the new item along with documentation to your original delivery address.

    For non-EU customer returns we ask that all postage labels are marked “RETURNED GOODS” with a set value of £0, or as low a value as is allowable for this courier e.g.£10.
