General Information
Our Web & Customer Services teams operate Monday to Friday. Orders placed over the weekend are picked up on Monday and dispatched in date order. Most garments are shipped directly from our warehouse, but on occasion they may be fulfilled from a store location, which may add processing time.
If your order is time-sensitive, please select an express shipping option or leave a note in the comments at checkout. You’ll be contacted by email if there are any stock issues or queries. If we do not receive a response within 2 days, we will proceed with dispatch or cancel the order as necessary.
1. Shipping Costs & Delivery Times
The easiest way to view shipping costs and delivery estimates is to add items to your basket, proceed to checkout, and enter your shipping address.
1.1. Shipping Zones and Free Shipping Threshold
We offer free worldwide shipping with orders over a certain value. We call this value the Free Shipping Threshold (FST). Depending on the zone your country is in, your Free Shipping Threshold will vary.
1.2 UK & Crown Dependencies
All orders placed for delivery within the United Kingdom are shipped free of charge. This includes England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Orders shipped to the Crown Dependencies — such as Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man — are not eligible for free UK shipping. These locations fall under our international shipping policy and their shipping costs and thresholds are determined by their assigned Shipping Zone. You can find this information in the Free Shipping Threshold (FST) table below.
The majority of our parcels are sent via DHL Express for tracked and reliable delivery. However, for smaller or lower-value items, we may use Royal Mail services.
| Zone | Free Shipping Threshold | Cost of Shipping if Under FST |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Free Shipping | Free Shipping |
| 2 | 150 | 6.95 |
| 2.1 | 150 | 14.95 |
| 3 | 150 | 19.95 |
| 4 | 200 | 29.95 |
| 5 | 300 | 34.95 |
| 6 | 300 | 39.95 |
| 7 | 400 | 44.95 |
| 8 | 400 | 49.95 |

(Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk)
- Russia
- Somalia
- South Sudan

This list is reviewed regularly and may change based on UK foreign policy and international conditions. If you are unsure whether we can ship to your country, please contact us before placing your order.
1.4 Courier / Service
The courier and delivery service used for your order will depend on the destination, value, and weight of your items. Below is a summary of the services we typically use and when they are applied.
| Courier / Service | When We’ll Use It |
|---|---|
| DHL: 2–4 Working Days | Used for most UK orders |
| DHL Express Worldwide | Used for most US orders |
| DHL Economy Select | Used for most EU orders |
| Royal Mail 48hr Tracked |
Used for small UK orders (under 2kg or under £100). Also used for HM Forces (BFPO addresses). |
| Royal Mail International Tracked |
Used for small orders going to the USA and Canada (under 2kg or under £100). Also used for HM Forces (BFPO addresses) and countries with limited DHL coverage, like China. |
| Parcelforce | Used for deliveries to Norway |
1.5 BFPO Addresses
We ship to BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses via Royal Mail or Parcelforce, regardless of the courier selected during checkout.
Please ensure you enter your complete BFPO address accurately at checkout. If you're unsure or need assistance, feel free to email us at [email protected] with your order number for confirmation.
1.6 Processing Time
While most of our orders are shipped directly from our distribution centre, there are occasions when an item needs to be sourced from one of our retail stores. In these cases, the processing time may be slightly longer.
We aim to process all orders within 3 working days. However, if your order contains multiple items, there is a higher chance that one or more of them may be fulfilled from a store, which could extend the overall processing time.
If your order includes a tailoring request — for example, trousers being hemmed — please allow an additional 2 working days for processing.
If your order does not include tailoring and has been processing for more than 5 working days, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] so we can look into it for you.
1.7 Tracking Your Order
You’ll receive a dispatch email with courier information and tracking details (if applicable).
Track your shipment:
- Royal Mail: https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item
- DHL: https://www.dhl.co.uk/en/express/tracking.html
If your package is untracked and overdue, check your local sorting office with valid ID. If it's not there, email us with your order number and delivery address.
1.8 What If I’m Out When My Order is Delivered?
DHL deliveries are typically left in a safe place at the driver’s discretion. If the area is deemed safe, the parcel will be delivered without a signature. If you would prefer not to have your parcel left unattended, you can opt to collect it from a local DHL depot.
To do this, use your tracking number to manage your delivery preferences directly via the DHL tracking page. Please make any necessary changes as early as possible to avoid missed deliveries.
1.9 An Item is Missing from My Order
Occasionally, we may split your order into separate shipments to ensure faster delivery of available items. If something appears to be missing, please check your email inbox (including junk or spam folders) in case you’ve received more than one dispatch notification or tracking number.
If you have not received a second tracking number or if you believe an item was missed in error, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
Taxes, Tariffs and VAT
Walker Slater (WS Web) is a VAT registered company in the UK with the VAT number GB 272478185.
When you place an international order, the total cost of your purchase can include more than just the item and shipping fees. Depending on your country, you may be required to pay taxes, tariffs, or Value Added Tax (VAT) before your package can be delivered. These charges are imposed by local customs authorities and are not controlled by us.
Taxes are government-imposed fees on goods and services.
Tariffs are duties or customs charges applied specifically to imported goods. They are meant to protect local industries or generate revenue, and they vary widely depending on the type of product and the destination country.
VAT (Value Added Tax) is a type of consumption tax commonly used in many countries, especially across Europe. It’s calculated as a percentage of the value of the goods and may apply even if no other duties are charged.
These charges are separate from what you pay at checkout on our website. Whether and how much you pay depends on the laws of the destination country, and in many cases, your parcel may be held at customs until the charges are paid.
2. I live in the EU; will I have to pay taxes when my order arrives?
We want to make shopping with us from Europe as simple and transparent as possible. To help with this, all EU customers now pay VAT at the checkout – the prices you see on our website already include VAT.
Your order is shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), which means you pay VAT to us at checkout, and we handle the payment of all necessary taxes and duties on your behalf. This ensures:
- No delays at customs
- No unexpected fees on delivery
- A smoother and faster delivery experience
2.1 I live in Europe, but not an EU Member State – will I have to pay taxes when my order arrives?
If you live in Europe but outside the EU – such as Norway, Switzerland, or Iceland – your order is not covered by our EU VAT and duty-paid service.
This means:
- Customs duties are not included at checkout.
- You may need to pay local import taxes, VAT, or handling fees before your parcel can be delivered.
- These charges are set by your local customs authority and vary by country.
Your parcel may be held at customs until these fees are paid. In most cases, the courier (usually DHL) will contact you with instructions.
Note: As we are based in the UK, UK customers are not affected. Orders shipped within the UK include VAT and are not subject to customs clearance.
If you're unsure what charges might apply in your country, we recommend checking with your local customs office before placing your order.
3. U.S. Taxes, Tariffs and Import Thresholds
Important for U.S. customers: From 1 September 2025, all international orders to the United States will be subject to import duties, taxes, and processing fees. In practice, most customers should expect to pay around 35% of their order value in additional charges to release goods from U.S. Customs.
Please Note - These charges are not included at checkout, we recommend factoring in these potential extra costs when placing your order. If applicable, DHL or U.S. Customs will contact you directly to arrange payment before your parcel can be delivered.
Will I have to pay taxes or tariffs when my order arrives?
From 1 September 2025, the United States is removing the de minimis threshold of $800 for all international commercial shipments. This means all orders, regardless of value, may now be subject to import duties, taxes, and processing fees when entering the U.S.
Full USA Delivery Details4.0 I live in Australia or New Zealand – will I have to pay taxes when my order arrives?
Australia
If you’re based in Australia, your order may be subject to GST (Goods and Services Tax) and customs duties, depending on its value.
- Orders under AUD $1,000 are generally not subject to import duties or GST.
- Orders over AUD $1,000 may incur:
- 10% GST
- Import duties (depending on the type of goods)
- Customs clearance fees
These charges are not included at checkout. Your parcel is shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), meaning you are responsible for paying any applicable fees once the parcel arrives. DHL will usually contact you with payment instructions before delivery.
New Zealand
All goods imported into New Zealand are generally subject to GST, regardless of the order value.
- 15% GST
- Import duties, depending on the item category
- Customs processing fees
As with Australia, these charges are not included at checkout, and your order is shipped DDU. You’ll be contacted by the courier or customs when payment is required to release your parcel.
We recommend checking with your local customs authority for the most up-to-date import rules before placing an order.
