Introduction

2024 marks our 35th anniversary, and with this milestone we reflect on the essence and evolution of Walker Slater.

Our commitment remains to champion the heritage and sustainability of tweed and woolen fabrics. The tweed cloth is a beautiful, traditional textile- but the possibilities of its wearable options are vast, and not limited to the traditional. We acknowledge that the clothing needs and styles of individuals are expansive, and aim to broadly deliver across this spectrum while maintaining our core values of Scottish heritage, tailoring excellence, and tweed specialization.

Our Autumn Winter 2024 Menswear Capsule Collection follows nine carefully selected looks spanning our casual, country, and contemporary collections. Throughout these capsules, we show the flexible nature of tweed applied in both elegant and tailored attire as well as in casual outfits. We hope to inspire and engage with the contemporary tweed story through this showcase of the variety of looks that can be achieved through its incorporation, from smart casual to preppy to outdoorsy, and more.

Casual Collection

Our Casual Collection highlights the ability to wear quality tweed pieces beyond the confines of suiting looks. This is offered through jackets, gillets, and more that are encouraged to be paired with chinos, cords, flannel, or even denim. Casual tweed pieces offer a chance to build-out a specialised and multifaceted wardrobe, not limiting tweed solely to the styles it traditionally sits within.

The Harris Tweed Cask Jacket and Gibb Gillet are paired with lambswool knitwear, corduroy, and flannel, displaying their ease of wear as layering pieces. The leather Jett Jacket is a standout piece in this collection and a statement in the evolution of Walker Slater. With a Shetland brown herringbone tweed lining, this jacket blends the casual, edgy style of a trucker jacket with a unique accent of Scottish heritage. These causal, less structured explorations of tweed pieces show how versatile and robust the fabric can be.

Country Collection

Colour becomes a hero element for us this season in Country. We celebrate traditional patterns such as tartan, fairisle, and checks to create a base palette of rich blues and autumnal greens with contrasting hints of reds and oranges. Curated combinations of hues and patterns achieve a natural country aesthetic with durability at its core through the careful construction of our garments.

The Watson belted coat in Harris Tweed is paired with cashmere wool knitwear and wool flannel trousers, bringing together heritage designs with our modern silhouettes. Fairisle knitwear also makes an appearance dressed up with smart chinos and a tailored jacket. Further featured is a new Borders Tweed tailoring fabric in Prince of Wales Check, crafted into our signature Edward cut. This range exhibits traditional country style blended harmoniously with our tailored cuts and craftsmanship.
