Icelandic Tweed

Icelandic Tweed, produced by Kormákur & Skjöldur in collaboration with Walker Slater, is a high-quality fabric made from the wool of Icelandic sheep. This unique wool is known for its exceptional warmth, strength, and durability, making it an ideal material for tweed.

The Icelandic Tweed fabric has a rustic, earthy look and feel, with a textured surface that is both soft and durable. The yarn is spun with a blend of natural colours, ranging from soft greys and browns to deep blues and greens, reflecting the rugged and beautiful landscape of Iceland.

The tweed fabric is tightly woven to create a dense and sturdy texture, ensuring its ability to withstand the harsh elements of the Icelandic climate. The fabric is also breathable, providing warmth and comfort without causing overheating.

The collaboration between Kormákur & Skjöldur and Walker Slater has resulted in a fabric that combines traditional Icelandic weaving techniques with modern British tailoring expertise, resulting in a fabric that is both timeless and contemporary.

Herringbone

Herringbone, also called broken twill weave, describes a distinctive V-shaped weaving pattern. It is distinguished from a plain chevron by the break at reversal, which makes it resemble a broken zigzag. The pattern is called herringbone because it resembles the skeleton of a herring fish.
