Style

Modelled on the iconic B-3 Flight jacket made for American bomber crews during the second world war, our Lancaster jacket is a heavyweight shearling bomber with a waxed outer. True to the original, our style has a large square collar with closing buckles. Designed to be turned up and buckled when needed, this collar protects the wearer’s neck and ears while also preventing cold air from entering the jacket. Likewise, side mounted buckles at the hips, allow the waist of the jacket to be cinched in, protecting from the wind and trapping heat. We've updated the style with a removable hood and longer length, while keeping the look true to the original. This rugged jacket goes well with other military, workwear, or vintage inspired styles.

Fit

Lancaster is a regular fit with longer sleeves. We would suggest ordering your usual size.

Fabric

Made from sheepskin shearling, this jacket has a hand applied waxed finish to the outer. This provides a degree of water protection and gives the jacket a rugged, worn in look. Natural variations in colour and texture are part of the charm of this style. As the jacket ages, a unique patina will develop, furthering its rugged appeal.

Fabric Care

Additional wax can be added as the jacket ages to improve waterproofing and care for the leather.

Have this jacket treated by a leather care specialist when needed. For small marks, we advise the use of a damp cloth and a small amount of clean water. A horsehair brush will remove dry dirt and can help to warm the wax for a more even finish. If the jacket is rained on and marks appear, brush vigorously with a horsehair brush, apply a thin coat of wax, and brush again. If marks persist, consult a specialist.

If stored at cold temperatures for a prolonged period of time, the wax can dry and turn white. This is easily resolved by warming the jacket to soften the wax. Do so by allowing the jacket to sit in a warm room or by brushing it vigorously.

  • Specialist care only.
  • Do not wash.
  • Do not dry clean.
