Caban Coat

Style

The Caban Coat has been inspired by the timeless design of peacoats. Originally, peacoats were worn by the Navy to keep them warm despite the harsh winds, rain and cold temperatures at sea. The style and fit have been modernised since its naval origins, but its functionality remains the same.

Fit

The Caban Coat is a thigh length coat, with a straight silhouette and a short collar. The coat can be fully fastened to protect against the cold or worn with the upper buttons undone, to create lapels.

Fabric & Care

Melton wool is a cloth which is often used for outerwear garments due to its robust and substantial texture. It’s made by first weaving the wool in a twill formation. The woven cloth is then put through a process called ‘napping’ which raises the fibres in the cloth, and is then sheared to give Melton wool its characteristic smooth and dense finish.
