Buchanan Tartan Tie
Style
The tartan tie is an enduring classic - endlessly versatile and an excellent way to incorporate a bit of Scottish heritage into any look. Tartan's rich history and connection to clans and estates makes it a natural fit for tweeds and other classic country styles. Not to be limited by convention, we feel tartan is equally at home with more contemporary styles, adding a dash of colour and pattern to bring a look to life.
Made in the traditional manner, our ties are folded three times before being closed with a slipstitch. The use of a slipstitch allows the tie to stretch along its length, making for a more comfortable tie that responds to movement. The use of a slipstitch also allows wrinkles to fall out more easily when hung or rolled at the end of the day. To make for a stronger, longer lasting tie, each end of the long back seam is reinforced with a durable bar tack.

Tartan
A classic Scottish pattern, tartans are composed of complex and often boldly coloured checks. Historically, the colours used, and style of check were unique to local weavers across the country. These designs were passed on generationally and their unique patterns and colours slowly became associated with particular areas and the people living there. Today, tartan makes for a bold, heritage-inspired way to add colour and pattern to a look.
