The perfect foundation for a formal ensemble, the Alex trouser is a versatile classic that always looks the part. The satin side stripes have a military heritage, originating as decoration on British military dress uniforms. Officers appreciated the detail and had their civilian eveningwear decorated with similar stripes to echo the look.
Wear with a matching jacket, white double-cuff shirt, cufflinks, black bow tie, and a pair of polished black shoes for a classic formal look. Alternatively, swap the matching jacket for a velvet example for a rich, luxurious take on eveningwear.
Fit
Based on our Edward trouser, Alex is a slim fit with a straight leg and a medium rise.
The Alex trouser comes hemmed to 33" with a plain hem finish. These can be let down for an unfinished 35" inseam.

Named for the village of Worstead in Norfolk, a historic centre for the wool trade. Cloth made from worsted wool is crisp and compact, with a smooth hand feel and subtle shine. To make worsted wool, fine merino wool is "carded", detangling and aligning the fibres, and combed to remove any short or damaged fibres. The resulting long, neatly arranged "slivers" are then spun into threads, woven, and finished.
