Love & Lockdown

A little inspiration...

Celebrations of love were rather scuppered at the announcement of lockdown, with ceremonies being moved, cancelled, shrunk...

Throughout this quiet time however, couples managed it. Maybe not on the grand scale they had looked forward to, but on an intimate level—the two most important people were certainly there. With the relaxation of the rules, and in some cases the creativity of the organisers, the second half of 2020 will host far more festivities. At Walker Slater, one of the teams’ favourite tasks is finding the perfect look for your big day. We pride ourselves on catering to all couple's needs, whether it be a single statement item or two full ensembles.

If you are looking to find an outfit for yourself or any of your wedding party, why not get in contact with your local store to organise an appointment? The staff can get an idea of what you are looking for in advance, ready some options, and prepare for your visit—and give you peace of mind that a trip into town won’t be wasted waiting.

Edinburgh, Victoria St – Mens & Ladieswear – 11am to 4pm

Glasgow, Brunswick St - Mens & Ladieswear – 11am to 4pm

Covent Garden, Great Queen St - Mens & Ladieswear – 11am to 4pm

There is nothing better than looking back at previous customer ceremonies for some inspiration; you might find you’d prefer bright, or checked, rather than classic wedding grey, instead of a dress you might opt for a full Harris tweed ensemble.

Esther and Emma. Emma wore the aptly named Emma Tailcoat, with tailored-to-fit Edward waistcoat and trouser.

Roger and Aisha. Aisha opted for a Harris tweed Emma jacket and Victoria skirt for their winter wedding.

Luke and Ryan wore matching Martin trousers in grey check, with the Martin jacket and waistcoat in navy fine herringbone.

Stephen and Lisa. Stephen wore a vibrant three piece - the Edward in aubergine Donegal pattern blue windowpane.

Tom and Hannah. Tom decided on this fantastic blue and heather check fabric during his made-to-measure appointment in Glasgow - it went beautifully with the wedding theme!

John & Craig. A double tweed wedding, with the Martin navy herringbone and Edward tobacco Donegal pattern Shetland!
