A fleeting meeting with... Kyron Keogh

A Fleeting Meeting...

Kyron is the Managing Director of ROX Diamonds & Thrills. Whilst his day to day life revolves around a luxury brand, with formal attire being the preferred option, his weekends and downtime are quite the opposite. Read on to find out about the backstory of the jewellery business, his love of music and even his much envied skill...

Meeting my business partner Grant and sharing a vision for creating a new and truly unique shopping experience led us to launch ROX back in 2002.  I don’t have a jewellery background; I graduated as a surveyor, became chartered and then worked as management consultant before I founded ROX. Grant and I manage different areas of the business. I oversee the day-to-day running of the brand including operations, e-commerce, PR and marketing. No day is the same, the independent jewellery scene is full of excitement and innovation and I truly love what I do. Working non-stop to get us back up and running during lockdown has been the most challenging yet rewarding time in my career.

Whether you are shopping with ROX online or in one of our boutiques we want to ensure everything we do is focused on the customer experience. How clients feel when shopping with us and how they feel when they leave our stores is at the centre of everything we do. Our store design evokes luxury with high specification fixtures and fittings throughout. We pay a lot of attention to detail when it comes to displays and lighting to ensure we showcase our collections perfectly. We pioneered the Thrill Room concept over 10 years ago to create lounge bar areas in our stores to encourage clients to shop and relax in style. Our sixth store opened in Liverpool in late 2019 with an updated Thrill Room concept. Sumptuous bespoke soft furnishings and a custom Moet & Chandon champagne bar create a focal point in the store.

From the moment you walk into a ROX boutique it’s evident that we do things a little differently. Our stores are more akin to an opulent hotel lobby than a traditional jeweller. With that in mind, we’re honoured to take our clients on a journey designed to thrill, excite and inspire.

My most recent Walker Slater pinstripe suit is a new personal favourite. The cut and flannel cloth are incredible and nothing makes me feel as good as great tailoringThere hasn’t been much call for it over the past 15 weeks—but when the time comes, I will really appreciate the next ROX event we can host and will definitely have it on!

I’m a big fan of good quality tailoring. I love a suit, but I’ve also invested in blazers over the years which look great with jeans and chinosPre COVID, we travelled to global industry events so I make sure I have two or three great jackets at the ready as they instantly make you look pulled togetherROX events are always about dressing up and my go-to is a shirt and blazer.

At home I’m much more relaxed. Downtime is for family and we were blessed with such great weather for most of lockdown, so when I wasn’t working shorts in the garden were my go-to.  Day-to-day, when I’m at the office, it's smart jeans, trainers and a good quality shirt. One of our latest luxury watches is the best way to finish off any look.

Most weekends I’ll make sure I spend some time in one of our stores meeting clients then it’s all about family, seeing friends and dining out. I’m lucky to live in the countryside so there are loads of places to explore nearby; perfect for family walks and relaxing. I‘m a big music fan so I’m really missing going to live gigs at the moment. Parties in my garden will have to do for now.

You wouldn’t know it but I am incredibly good at playing the drums. My first instrument was guitar, but when I was kid everyone wanted to play guitar and nobody wanted to play the drums. So, I took them up and taught myself so I could play in a band.  My kit is set up at home and I practice from time to time.
